Introduction To Eye Care Patches

Eye patches are topical eye care products used to protect the eyes and relieve eye fatigue. Their main ingredients are herbal extracts (such as dendrobium, chrysanthemum, and cassia seed) or medical polymer materials. They can be divided into two categories: cosmetic-grade daily eye patches and medical-grade dressings.

Eye patches improve blood circulation around the eyes through acupoint application or cooling with ice packs. They are suitable for people who use their eyes extensively, those with dry eye syndrome, and those requiring post-operative care. However, contact with the eyeball should be avoided, and those with allergies should use them with caution.

The Chinese medical eye patch market is projected to reach 30 billion yuan by 2025, primarily used as an adjunct treatment for dry eye syndrome and for post-operative care. Ophthalmologists point out that eye patches only temporarily relieve eye fatigue and do not have the medical efficacy of reducing myopia or curing eye diseases.
